Muisjes Blue & White aniseed sprinkles
Muisjes (translated little mice) are a traditional Dutch sandwich topping. While customary on bread, their most typical use is on beschuit, or rusk. Muisjes are made of aniseeds with a sugared and colored outer layer. They are made by one company only, De Ruijter since 1860.
It is a traditional Dutch custom to serve pink and white sprinkles when a girl is born and to serve out blue and white sprinkles when a boy is born.
Ingredients: Suga, aniseed, wheat starch, glucose syrup, rinse aid (carnauba wax), dye (indigotine)
